Funtana is a tourist town on the central part of the Istrian coast.  The rugged coastline, with it’s peninsulas and islands, is particularly picturesque and therefore very attractive for everyone.

Today, this cozy ambiance offers numerous recreational activities, while the esteemed gastronomical specialties and assorted wines will satisfy even the most demanding requests. In addition to a good gastronomical offer, Funtana has also sports and leisure facilities. All water sports (sailing, diving, water skiing), as well as the well-marked cycling routes, are particularly popular.

FUNTANA is located directly on the coast and invites you, not only in summer with its many beaches, bays and islands for swimming, sailing and diving, but captivates in the spring and autumn months.

If you want to get to know the country and the people of Istria, Funtana, thanks to its geographical location, is the best starting point.

NEARBY TOWNS

The small and intimate town of Vrsar, where the famous heartbreaker Casanova spent some of his time, is 3 km away and Poreč, with its Euphrasian complex, which has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1997, is only 6 km away many interesting cities such as Rovinj, one of the most romantic tourist towns on the Adriatic, or Pula with its numerous Roman monuments. The medieval town of Motovun and the artistic town of Grožnjan, as well as many other small towns in the heart of Istria, can be reached within an hour’s drive. Especially in spring and autumn, the landscape of the island is beautiful, with the bright colors you can see the awakening of nature, enjoy the tranquility of autumn, and participate in many cultural events, folk festivals and exhibitions.

Hiking and cycling

You will find many picturesque vineyards and walks along the sea, around Funtana. For enthusiastic hikers we can organize several family-suitable to challenging hiking tours. With our travel guide you could go to the mountains of Ćićarija and Učka and enjoy the views and incomparable nature.

Another highlight is our bicycle paths, which are connected with more than 500 km of cycle paths in Istria. If you are not on the road, you can rent it from us and get maps of the bike paths.

Olive oil

You are familiar with the importance of olive oil, and you’ve heard that the best quality is produced in Istria? The best oil is made from hand gathered olives, refined within 48 hours using cold press. Would you like to be a part of olive harvest and return to your home with flasks of oil you participated in creating? We can help you with that during October.
